Keeping the Brick Lights On
On Saturday, March 21, 2020 ConnLUG Members met in a remote Teams meeting online to share their quarterly build challenges, MOC & Tells, connect with friends, and catch up on all things LEGO.
Weekly Mini Challenges
In an effort to stay connected and keep spirits up, the LUG assembled new ideas for miniature build challenges & weekly remote meet-ups in between their monthly meetings. Their list became a series of challenges over the coming weeks that they can share with each other every Saturday for an hour online or share photos of their builds throughout the week.

The challenge limits the size to creating MOCs small enough to fit on your phone. Micro builds, small minifig sized builds, and tiny vignettes are encouraged. The driving force being to use what you have without needing to go out and buy anything while we’re practicing social distancing.
Quarterly Build Challenge Submissions
Quarterly build challenges, normally shared in person, were submitted online in photo form and then turned into a collective video showcasing the LUG members’ builds. Nineteen members in total participated in the challenge and shared their builds in the Teams meeting.
After the build challenges were shared, the floor was opened up for regular MOC & Tells. Members held their MOCs up to their webcams and shared stories of their builds together. Even going as far as sharing cities and sparking ideas for sharing larger builds that don’t travel well. The LUG is taking this new opportunity to see more of each others’ creative builds.
