Holiday 2020 at ConnLUG

The holidays are normally a time to be close to family and friends, to share in good cheer, and to reflect on the year that was. Suffice to say, 2020 was anything but normal. While we have maintained our tempo of remote monthly meetings and alternating MOC & Tell gatherings, ConnLUG is rounding out the year glad to be done with 2020 and looking forward to 2021 optimistically.
One of the crowing jewels of the ConnLUG events circuit is our final event each year: The Wadsworth Atheneum Festival of Trees and Traditions in Hartford, CT. In years past, this event has drawn tens of thousands of visitors, all whom were able to enjoy the large display that ConnLUG sets up for the event. Sadly, due to COVID-19, there was no option to hold the event this year, and ConnLUG joined The Wadsworth Atheneum in solidarity by choosing to err on the side of safety and forgo the event.
Despite not holding the Festival, The Wadsworth Atheneum invited ConnLUG to set up our annually displayed DUPLO® Christmas Tree, a gift from the master builders in Denmark to the Wadsworth some years ago. Atheneum staff were kind enough to record and time lapse the footage of the tree set up, which you can see on their social media and also on the ConnLUG YouTube channel. You can watch the set up below.
From all of us at ConnLUG to all our families, friends, and LEGO fans out there, we hope that you stay safe and healthy, and that you have a prosperous new year in 2021.
Happy Building, Play Well!
