Approaching the Holidays
Updates from ConnLUG
It’s hard to believe that 2021 is almost over. Here we are, days before Thanksgiving, and the year wrapping up in only a few weeks. This year has flown by, as many of them do, but despite the challenges of remote meetings and surviving the global pandemic, ConnLUG has emerged as strong as ever.
Return to the Atheneum
Next weekend, ConnLUG will be heading to the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford to set up for the 47th Annual Festival of Trees and Traditions (FOTT). Each year, we strive to provide a memorable experience for the patrons of the FOTT with an elaborate holiday LEGO display. Though we were not able to share this experience in 2020, we are thrilled to return to the Wadsworth for this special event. ConnLUG members are encouraged to participate in the set up (Sat 11/27 as well as the event itself, (12/4 & 12/5; 12/11 & 12/12).

Business, Business, Business. Numbers.
We have recently finalized the ConnLUG Bylaws which will become the governing document for our organization on January 1, 2022. After many thoughtful conversations, meetings, and reviews, our bylaws, and also our conflict of interest policy, were officially ratified by the board members on November 1st. These serve as our organizational charter and will guide our path into the new year. You can read and review the bylaws on our About page.
Reflection
This is the perfect time of year to reflect on what we are thankful for the most. As always, we appreciate our friends and family, our AFOL/TFOL family, and the folks we have come to know through our shared LEGO experiences. We are so thankful for our time together, even virtually, and though sometimes a struggle, we are thankful for the health and wellness of our organization and its members. We consider ourselves fortunate to share in this great hobby, to be able to share in our creativity with one another, and to provide the human connections that have been so sought after these last two years. We are thankful that ConnLUG continues to thrive and grow stronger, and we look forward to a bright 2022 ahead.
Stay tuned for updates from ConnLUG over the coming weeks. We wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.
Happy Building, Play Well!
