  • Community Connections: Samuel F.

One of the best things about being part of the AFOL community is the opportunity to connect with other LEGO enthusiasts over a mutual love of building. Such was the case this past week when I met Samuel at the Westfarms LEGO Brand Retail Store! Samuel and I began chatting when he overheard me talking with the employees there about my recent trip to LEGO House. From what I understand, he will be visiting soon and wanted to know what to expect. We ended up chatting for almost an hour about my trip to Denmark and his recent trip to Brickfest Philly. Samuel has an Instagram account (@Minifigs_mocs_and_beyond) where you…

You can see all of the MOCs for the Monthly Build Challenge in greater detail as well as additional pictures from the meeting on our April Photos page. One of our…

  • ConnLUG Gathers in Glastonbury for March Meeting

Twenty-two members of ConnLUG gathered at the Keller Williams Realty offices in Glastonbury on Saturday, 16 March for the March Monthly Meeting. Current members introduced themselves and spoke about their own history with LEGO, their likes, and dislikes in some cases – you know who you are Jack Stone fans – and mentioned where they hail from. We had three guests as well, including the parents of a very new AFOL in training, who enjoyed the NEXO KNIGHTS wheels as much as any of us! We reviewed club business, including the adoption of our new website, registration, and our chosen chat platform Discord, as well as events, both upcoming and…

  • Sculpting Creativity at the Wadsworth Atheneum

On Saturday, March 9th, members of ConnLUG were on hand at the Wadsworth Atheneum – America’s oldest continually operating public art museum – to help families explore their artistic side through the medium of LEGO®. As part of the Wadsworth’s Second Saturdays program, a variety of activities centered around the theme of sculpting were available throughout the museum. At ConnLUG’s table, builders were limited to 2×4 bricks in blue, white, and green. Nevertheless, visitors were able to build some impressive creations. Second Saturdays at the Wadsworth Atheneum offer free admission on the second Saturday of every month. The museum features a variety of educational and creative activities in one of…
