• Volunteering at Manchester Public Library

Summer is in full swing at ConnLUG, and what better time to give back to our community. On Tuesday, July 12th, ConnLUG members were joined by friend of ConnLUG, Corey Schmidek of E.Y.E.S., to conduct an afternoon program of LEGO robotics, simple machines, and Technic® builder vs builder mayhem. Our AFOL team supported 14 TFOLs over two hours as they designed, constructed, and clashed in feats of monorail strength.

  • Restoring Our LEGO World

With the February Monthly Meeting in the books, ConnLUG members took the opportunity to reconnect in person and online via our hybrid meetings. This was one of the few times since the beginning of the global pandemic that we were able to engage with one another for an in-person gathering. Many familiar faces, and some new faces as well, joined in sharing our love of LEGO with MOCs, MODs, and excellent builds.

  • ConnLUG in the New Year

January 2022 is right around the corner, and for our first meeting of the new year, ConnLUG will host a hybrid meeting, both in person and online. Member may choose which way to attend based on their comfort level. The January meeting will see the return of the set draft and the build challenge! Check out what's in store for the January Monthly Meeting on our events calendar.

  • Approaching the Holidays

Approaching the Holidays It's hard to believe that 2021 is almost over. Here we are, days before Thanksgiving, and the year wrapping up in only a few weeks. This year has flown by, as many of them do, but despite the challenges of remote meetings and surviving the global pandemic, ConnLUG has emerged as strong as ever.

  • We Asked, You Told Us

Summer. We made it. The sun is shining, the air is warm, and the smiles have almost returned to our little corner of the world. We've been through a lot these last few months, both in our personal health and in the health of our communities. It has been a difficult road so far; however, we managed to survive and even thrive through our love of LEGO, socially distant communication, remote gatherings, and concern for one another. Find out what is changing and what is staying the same for the rest of this year, plus new rules to keep us safe!

  • ConnLUG Featured in Blocks Magazine

ConnLUG has been featured on the international stage! Back in January, Blocks, a UK based subscription magazine for LEGO enthusiasts, by LEGO enthusiasts, featured a segment on ConnLUG in an awesome two-page article in its January 2020 issue #63.

  • ConnLUG Adds New Challenges

ConnLUG Members can now find a dedicated section for our Quarterly Build Challenges on our site under the Events section. The ConnLUG Quarterly Build Challenge is an opportunity to participate in a fun and friendly contest with other members four times per year. The challenges are presented in the public meetings that fall in the months of March, June, September, and December. ConnLUG members are given a set of instructions for the parameters of the challenge, and then have ample time to build what inspires them. During the meetings, members are invited to display and describe their MOCs, and the goal of the challenges is to then display the collective…

  • Welcome to 2020 ConnLUG

New Year, New Site, New ConnLUG Hey AFOLs and TFOLs of ConnLUG! Happy 2020! Here we are in a new decade, the future is now! We hope that you've all had a nice holiday and are looking forward to all of the fun and opportunities that await us in this new year.

  • Community Connections: MrHinkleDraws

Many of you are probably aware that ConnLUG has YouTube channel where we have begun to feature set reviews and descriptions of MOCs. But ConnLUG’s Kevin Hinkle has a channel of his own! Today, our ambassador Steve joined Kevin and other members of the AFOL community to tackle our ever-growing backlog of sets in front of an audience. If you want to see our ambassador attempt to build sets while praising Nexo Knights, introducing his cat to the stream, and getting perhaps a bit overly passionate about why he thinks the Star Wars expanded universe is rubbish, you can click here. Kevin invites other AFOLs to join in the fun…

  • Community Connections: Samuel F.

One of the best things about being part of the AFOL community is the opportunity to connect with other LEGO enthusiasts over a mutual love of building. Such was the case this past week when I met Samuel at the Westfarms LEGO Brand Retail Store! Samuel and I began chatting when he overheard me talking with the employees there about my recent trip to LEGO House. From what I understand, he will be visiting soon and wanted to know what to expect. We ended up chatting for almost an hour about my trip to Denmark and his recent trip to Brickfest Philly. Samuel has an Instagram account (@Minifigs_mocs_and_beyond) where you…
