• BrickFair New Jersey 2019

BrickFair is one of the most impressive and by far largest gatherings of AFOLs, TFOLs, and KFOLs in the United States. Founded by fellow AFOL and builder Todd Webb, BrickFair hosts annual events all along the Eastern seaboard throughout the year. While BrickFair Virginia is certainly the largest of the events, BrickFair New Jersey is no less a fun time for exhibitors and fans alike. ConnLUG will be in attendance at BrickFair New Jersey 2019 with an exhibitor display Nov 1st-3rd, featuring MOCs from many of our members. As the venue and event are within a 2 1/2 hour drive from Hartford, this is an ideal event for ConnLUG members…

  • Build the LUG Event 2.0

Join ConnLUG for the “Build the LUG 2.0” event on Saturday, October 12 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. ConnLUG members and guests are invited to join us for a fun filled afternoon of design and building. We supply the bricks and pieces, and you bring your creativity and enthusiasm for building to help us make some outstanding MOCs! Our goal is use the ConnLUG materials to create modular display elements that can be used in future shows that we plan to attend. This could range from buildings to terrain elements, or vehicles to decorations, anything really. The sky is the limit. Bring your ideas and make them into reality.

  • Community Connections: MrHinkleDraws

Many of you are probably aware that ConnLUG has YouTube channel where we have begun to feature set reviews and descriptions of MOCs. But ConnLUG’s Kevin Hinkle has a channel of his own! Today, our ambassador Steve joined Kevin and other members of the AFOL community to tackle our ever-growing backlog of sets in front of an audience. If you want to see our ambassador attempt to build sets while praising Nexo Knights, introducing his cat to the stream, and getting perhaps a bit overly passionate about why he thinks the Star Wars expanded universe is rubbish, you can click here. Kevin invites other AFOLs to join in the fun…

  • Community Connections: Samuel F.

One of the best things about being part of the AFOL community is the opportunity to connect with other LEGO enthusiasts over a mutual love of building. Such was the case this past week when I met Samuel at the Westfarms LEGO Brand Retail Store! Samuel and I began chatting when he overheard me talking with the employees there about my recent trip to LEGO House. From what I understand, he will be visiting soon and wanted to know what to expect. We ended up chatting for almost an hour about my trip to Denmark and his recent trip to Brickfest Philly. Samuel has an Instagram account (@Minifigs_mocs_and_beyond) where you…
